Hi, I’m Simon, I come from the UK and I’m an English teacher. I have taught for one year in Canada, two years in Japan, and for one year in the UK. Since returning to the UK from Japan, I have also been teaching one-to-one English lessons over Skype, and I think it’s great! That’s why I’ve made this website, to help more students around the world to discover this convenient and effective method for studying English.

Why one-to-one?

The beauty of one-to-one language lessons is that the lesson can be adapted for the individual needs of each student. Some students want strict grammar correction, while others might need extra focus on pronunciation. Some students need to be able to handle business meetings with important clients, while others simply want to chat and practice by having an enjoyable conversation about interesting topics. This means that you get the type of lesson you want, at the right level for you – which is also the type of lesson you will most enjoy, and that will be of the greatest benefit to your language acquisition.

Why Skype?

These days, thanks to modern technology, you can enjoy the benefits of one-to-one English tuition without even leaving the comfort of your own home! You don’t have to spend precious time (and money) travelling to a school, tutor’s house, or cafe, so it’s east to schedule lessons at the most convenient time for you. That could be when you wake up in the morning before getting ready for work, it could be at 11 p.m. after you’ve put the kids to bed, or any time in between! You can’t find that level of convenience with a course at an English school, or even with a private tutor visiting your home.

The other great advantage is the price – school courses are expensive because in addition to paying the teachers, they have to cover the costs of rent, bills and maintenance, office staff salaries, and so on. Even private tutors have to consider the time and money they spend travelling to meet their students. However, studying with me on Skype means there are no additional costs, so you only pay for the most important thing – quality English tuition.
